Neuschwanstein Castle is a dream come true vision of the ideal Middle Age castle, which was built by King Ludwig II at the end of the 19th century, according to his very special wishes and the rooms of which he decorated splendidly. The headstrong king chose a mountain plateau for his dream castle, allowing for a fascinating view of the mountain landscape and Allgäu region. He once said, "This place is one of the most beautiful places you can find."

"Homely and comfortable" is how King Ludwig once said he wanted his castle to be - as he wrote to the well respected composer Richard Wagner. Indeed, you can visit this dreamworld of Neuschwanstein, which is simply brimming with exuberance, just a few kilometres from our hotel.
You will discover a lot: the throne room resembling the interior of a church, through which King Ludwig wanted to demonstrate his godly right to be king. The huge pictures on the wall show Middle Age sagas, which served as a source for Richard Wagner's operas. An artificial limestone cave leads to the winter garden ...

What you don't notice at first glance: Hidden behind the ancient facades you will find the most modern technology. Warm-air central heating, running water and even flushable toilets - more than unusual in the 19th century and pure luxury on a mountain plateau. However, for King Ludwig it was a matter of course.
